Why Is It So Hard to Let Go?

On Monday, February 16, Rabbi Mark Fishman, Manager of North American Engagement for Israel365 and Director of Israel365 Nashville, taught a compelling class at Nashville Sabbath Fellowship titled: Forgetting But Not Forgiving: Why Is It So Hard to Let Go?

In this teaching, Rabbi Fishman wrestles with the Torah’s command:

“You shall not hate your brother in your heart; you shall surely admonish your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him.” (Leviticus 19:17)

What does it actually mean to “surely admonish” someone? And what happens when we don’t?

Through the tragic story of Amnon, Tamar, and Avshalom in 2 Samuel, Rabbi Fishman explores the spiritual cost of silence, the danger of buried resentment, and the difference between forgetting and truly forgiving.

This is not an easy topic. But it is a necessary one for anyone seeking healthy relationships and to walk faithfully before HaShem.
